bentamax helps Facebook live sellers in the Philippines keep track of claims, payments and orders during a live. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions go to hello@bentamax.com.
Who is responsible
For data about a seller’s own account and staff, bentamax is responsible. For data about a seller’s buyers (comments, messages, orders), the seller decides how it’s used and bentamax processes it on the seller’s behalf. We handle personal data in line with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
What we collect
From sellers and their staff
- Name, email address and password (stored only as a one-way hash), plus an authenticator secret for admin and finance accounts.
- Store details the seller enters: store name, products, prices, stock, and payment details shown to buyers.
- When a seller connects a Facebook Page: the Page’s id and name, and a Page access token, stored encrypted. We use it only to read comments on that Page’s posts and lives and to send and receive Messenger messages for that Page.
- A log of actions taken in the back office, for security and to resolve disputes.
From buyers of a connected store
- Comments on the seller’s Facebook Page posts and lives: the commenter’s name, the id Facebook provides for them, the comment text and time. We use this to record who claimed which item.
- Messenger messages and button taps sent to the seller’s Page, and the messages the Page sends back.
- Order details the buyer enters: name, phone number, delivery address and notes.
- Payment receipts the buyer uploads (images) and the payment reference number, so the seller can check the payment.
From the waitlist
- Email, phone number, Facebook Page link and how often the seller goes live, so we can contact sellers when there’s a spot.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell personal data or use it for advertising.
- We don’t read Facebook data beyond the Pages a seller connects, and only for the purposes above.
- We don’t hold buyers’ money. Buyers pay the seller directly.
Who else sees it
- The seller and the staff they invite see their own store’s buyers and orders. Stores can’t see each other’s data.
- Meta (Facebook) receives the messages and comments we send through its platform.
- Our servers are hosted by Hetzner in Germany.
How long we keep it
We keep a store’s data while the seller’s account is active. When a seller closes their account or asks us to, we delete it within 30 days, except records we’re required by law to keep.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, or object to how it’s used. See how to have your data deleted, or email hello@bentamax.com. You can also complain to the Philippine National Privacy Commission.
